Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]

(1)
Are you guys twins or just brothers?
Neither. We aren't related. We're just best friends. Maybe it's like owning a pet. After a while, the pet starts to look like you.

(2)
How many books do you plan to write?
As many as possible. How many does everyone want to read?

(3)
Where do you get your characters?
In Knightscares, we started out using our kids as characters. Later we added more family members and even some pets. Now we write about anyone we think our readers will enjoy. Maybe that's a girl who can fly like Superman or a young man who has been turned into a werewolf.

(4)
Can you write a book about me?
We get a lot of requests for this and even more kids asking us to use their names in a book. While we can't write stories about specific people, we're always looking for good names. You never know. Your name might end up in one of our books some day.

(5)
Where did the name Knightscares come from?
David likes heroes, including old-fashioned heroes called knights. Charlie likes the spooky side of things. So we put them together and came up with Knightscares.

(6)
When did you start writing?
Charlie started writing in elementary school. He wrote spooky stories to scare his uncles. David knew in 8th grade that he was going to grow up to be an author. It's never too early to start writing.

(7)
Where do you do your writing?
We write most often in David's basement. It's quiet and the spiders leave us alone if we leave them alone. Our families lock us down there and won't let us out until we finish a new book. Lucky for us, they sometimes slip pizzas under the door.

(8)
How do two people work togeter on the same book?
Because we've been friends for so long, we've started to think alike. When one of us comes up with an idea, the other person usually says "Great idea!" rather than rejecting it. All writers have to plan out their writing. We do twice as much of that.

(9)
Is David or Charlie the artist?
No. Neither one of us can draw a straight line on a computer. :p
